Merry Christmas Eve my Friends! I just wanted to pop in really quick to tell you that I am so very grateful for your friendship, kindness and loyalty over the last three years. I thought it would be much easier to let it all go with the thought of events and online shopping ahead of me but the thing I loved the most about my store was getting to put my peepers on all of you day in and day out. I loved hearing your stories and sharing your joy and even your sorrows. I loved being your friend! So, even though today is short and sweet (it is Christmas eve after all) I will be here often! I can see this spot becoming our new hangout and I have all sorts of ideas up my sleeve! So, for now, have a wonderful Christmas and I will talk to you in a few days! Much Love! Stacie

Ok, so we are 4 days into December and how is picture taking coming along? Are you capturing the moments big and small? Are you taking a few minutes each day to jot down some thoughts about the day? Consider typing them in a word doc and writing it up later when you have the time to play. Remember, everything matters. Not just the tree trimming or the party hosting or the cookie frosting but the moment to moment days of December. P.S. Don't forget to keep an eye on Tim's Tags!!! WOW! An Idea!

So, I was thinking about December Daily because I am fixin' to get it all together and I was thinking about the fact that I have done it for the last 4 years but have yet to completely complete an entire year. That is a cryin shame. So, here is what I am thinking...cell phone pics! My failure each year comes in the way of pictures. I can get the album all completed and ready to go but as we near "the day" I forget to take pictures and then I am sad when I look at Ali Edward's (Queen of all things December Daily) and see that she never forgets a stinkin day and even though she tells me 187 times not to worry about it I still want a picture every day. So here is my challenge to all of you...try to take a pic every day with your cell phone! Sure you can take them with your fancy camera too but don't think that you need to get out your fancy camera and set up the tripod every day in order to document December. Just point and shoot every day with that cell phone. I WILL do it and I am going to share it right here just to make myself do it! Come January we can talk about how to put it all together! Are you with me?!?

I Know, I know, I've been a little behind on the blogging but we have had so much going on that I just can't keep up! So the latest and greatest news is all about classes! I am working on a layout of the month club! I am pretty darn excited about it so you better get excited too! Our first layout will be a Halloween theme and the date is on the October calendar. Cost is only $12 and you leave with this adorable layout. I am alredy working on November and December so stay tuned! For the next few months we will have many classes that are great for handmade inexpensive gifts. Tonya has a few on the calendar already! The beautiful glass ornaments you see below are a gift you can give away (or you can keep them for yourself) and you will put some of your scrapping/stamping supplies to use with this project! As if that isn't enough we have 4 spots left for a Tattered Angels class on Tuesday, October 27th from 10-12! This was a special addition to the calendar as of 2 days ago! WOOHOO! So, I got tired of YouTube because it takes forever and a day to upload a video to it so I just stumbled upon Vimeo...I really like it and it is fast! I found it right before I left home so there wasn't much time to upload but I did get one Maya Road album uploaded. I sorta just scanned around the Maya Road booth and video taped and photographed everything and you can hear me in the background talking about what it is on the way. Pretty much all that was videotaped was ordered! Happy idea hunting!

Let's Get Digital...Digital...I wanna Get Digital!

Heehee...no, I am not having a flashback to the 80s! We are moving right on into the 21st century! Many of you have expressed an interest in learning more about digital scrapbooking and while it can't replace our love of paper, bling and glue it does have it's place and a pretty cool one at that! I have been trying to figure out how to fill that hole quickly and easily for those of you who are interested and I finally found it! I will have a class on Tuesday, August 25th from 5:00-7:00 to get you going! All you need to bring is your laptop with pictures saved on it or a flash drive/cd with pics on it. Please call me at the shop ASAP if you are interested because I can only take 10 people for this first go around! No worries we will do this many more times!

A Bunch More Fabulous Samples

I just realized that there really is no reason to make a different post for each of these slide shows so I thought I would put them all in one post... Cosmo Cricket new stuff is adorable and one of their new lines is called Boyfriend! Finally a teen boy paper that looks great! No dark dreary colors but not frilly either! You will love it and it is great for school pics too. They also have a new Earthy line that is darling and of course I couldn't pass up their Christmas line....Golly by Jolly! And by the way...many companies have figured out that us card makers love paper too! Quite a few companies have heard our cry and are making their papers in a scaled down design so we can still use the same paper but it is just scaled down to meet a carmakers needs...Cosmo is one of those companies! Wait till you see it!

Karen Foster Papers and embellies are all here too! These were some really cute ideas but the volleyball page was my favorite! The designer cut slits in the page and created tags that went into the slits. Very cool!

Although no one needs encouragement to buy Best Paper I had to share the layouts...some of these have already been made and are hanging in the store!

Ok, that has to be enough for now! Have to go put up all the new Fiskar punches! Have you seen how cute they are? Owls and new borders and awesome new titanium scissors! Come and see

In all the hustle and bustle of planning for events every weekend I almost forgot that Scrap Pink was right around the corner! In fact it is the same weekend as our first Scrappin' Retreat! Never fear though...while some of us our croppin' in the mountains we are planning a BIG Scrap Pink event right in the shop! Just started the planning yesterday and already have some great things lined up! WOW! The things you can do with Core'dinations Paper!

We have had Core'dinations in the store since we opened and it is beautiful paper with rich color and a very cool color. Some of you have even figured out the many things you can do with it. Well, lookout because the 33 samples that I took pictures of will really WOW you! We will be getting all 240 colors in the store within a week and the super cool pads of paper they offer are also coming in along with a pad that is the result of a partnership between Core'dinations and the super fabulous Jenni Bowlin. The pad is already embossed and is rich red, cream and black Core'dination paper. Stay tuned for tweets about the arrival of it and come see samples in the store next week! Working on that today!

Clear Scraps Ideas!

I love Clear Scraps and just about anything see through but I tend to get a little nervous when it comes to creating so I took a ton of pictures and talked to one of their designers for a long time and you know...it ain't that hard! Lots of acrylic is on the way...did you know you can emboss and cut the sheets of acrylic (from Clear Scraps) on the Cricut?!?!?

The Beginning

We drove down on Sunday night getting in around 12:30am. I had raved about our digs at the Hampton Inn because in my experience they have had the best beds in the whole world! Well, let's just say there is a big difference between the king suite and the economy stay. Notice the lumps in the bed? It was ok though...clean and great service. The next morning we got up and headed in different directions. I went to my all day Copic certification class. ARRGGGHHHH...not so good with sitting for hours and hours but I did learn a lot and we will be carrying a lot more Copic in the store. I did decide that we will continue to carry the Ciao markers and I will be carrying all 144 colors. The only difference between them and the sketch is the number of colors available so I figured 144 colors was plenty in order to save a couple dollars per marker. I can even show you some work arounds if you are dying to use your Ciao to airbrush. We will start holding the Copic 101 classes as soon as they come in...should be about 2 weeks. Stay tuned. Once the class was over the fun began...we spent a few hours at the Creative Imaginations soiree mostly making cool projects that we will have available to recreate in the store and then we were off to the Fiskar event at Epcot. After the hour long bus ride that took us a total of 5 miles and a quick back door entrance into Epcot we had a quick ice cream sundae, got a bag of Fiskar goodies that will be given away at our next Scrap4aCause and then watched the Illuminations laser and fireworks display. Quite amazing (see the shaky video) and then back on the bus and whisked back to the convention center so we could walk back to our hotel. It was an early night at Epcot so we didn't get to go on rides or anything...sort of a bummer night but the highlight...drum roll please...WE SAW CAROL DUVALL! I love that girl! She was as cute as she was on TV and seemed so shocked that we were all beside ourselves to see one of our crafting heroes! Simply delightful! Ok, so I know the promises for news on the road were grand and if you were following me on Twitter you got moment by moment news about what I was buying and who I saw...(did you hear that I saw Carol Duvall!?!?!)but the blogging wasn't as good because I couldn't find my camera picture uploader while on the road! WOOHOO, it has been found! Let the viewing begin! I have downloaded the 200 some odd pics and videos that I took and I will be working on blogging about all the ideas I gathered. I only took pics of samples if they were something we will have in the store. The First Day...

WOW!!! What a day! We made it through half the show today and that was moving non-stop from 9amish (we had to stop for pictures with Carol Duvall!)until they turned off ths lights on us at 5pm. It was a super day that included lots of embellishment ordering and a few other fun surprises! Core'dinations like you wouldn't believe and a million ideas for how to use it, tonz more Copic markers and their groovy Spica markers (glitter pens)Petaloo flowers, Clear Scrap Acrylic Books etc and a million ideas for using them, Creative Impressions bulk flowers (new kinds) Sparkle and Sprinkle embossing powder and this very fabulous Magic Sparkle stuff that is amazing and some really cute penguin and dog stamps, Stamper's Anonymous (Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi stamps)Art Gone Wild and Darcie Stamps! We ended at Tattered Angels playing with their brand new embossed chipboard and Glimmer Mist...WOOHOO! WHEW...I am exhausted all over again. Tomorrow is another day and we will be adding We R Memory Keepers, Harmonie and who knows what else as we zip through part 2! I'm still working on the videos...not sure why they are taking forever and a year to upload but never fear I am still videoing and taking a million pictures of ideas to share! Don't forget that Tonya and Mom are at the shop and would love to see you! New stuff is already coming in so don't miss out...Basic Grey, PK Glitz, Martha Stewart brand new punches are already there and more things are coming in each day! Ok, lots to update you on but I have spent all my time trying to load the video I took from yesterday's class so I don't have time to blog right now other than to let you know the following... *If you followed me on Twitter yesterday than you heard about the Copic class...pretty darn cool...I'm going to keep practicing so I won't forget anything before I get back to teach the Copic 101 Class on Tuesday night...call the shop if you want to sign up...$20 which includes 4 markers! *Epcot event was so-so...the fireworks show was amazing...video coming soon! *Florida is at about 172% humidity so if you don't like to sweat be glad you are getting the internet version of what is going on! *Got a great bag of Fiskars goodies at the event last night...hmmm...perhaps we need to use those for giveaways at the next Scrap4aCause!?!?! *Overall we are having a great time! WHEW! What a week it has been! Time is flying by faster than I can keep up and we have so many things going on that my head is spinning most of the time! So, hang on to your hats and here's the update... *Crop Friday night only has 2 spots left...call me tomorrow if you want in! *Saturday Sidewalk Sale happens again this Saturday! Lots more stuff on the 50% off table and let's do the whole store at 20% off again (unless otherwise marked)! *I leave for CHA on Sunday night and will keep you updated on the fab things I find while I am gone...just got my very own FLIP so look out for undercover video of what's out there and you know I will be TWITTERING! Scrappin' Retreat!

WOOHOO! It is finally here! Sorry it took an extra 24 hours to get all the details together but things have to be as fabulous as possible! As I hinted yesterday we will be staying at the Glenn Rock Inn at Montreat in Black Mountain, NC. Not sure if you have ever ventured to Black Mountain but it is a magnificent place. Great beauty, really peaceful and GREAT SHOPPING! I chose the Glenn Rock because we will have the whole place to ourselves which means we can scrap all night if we so choose! We have an incredible menu planned that Chef Mom will be cooking for us all weekend and our accommodations are fabulous! The price for the entire weekend is only $225! Cost will include 3 meals Friday and Saturday, 2 meals on Sunday, double occupancy rooms, access to a Cricut and library of cartridges, 6 foot table per scrapper, a variety of brand new merchandise to purchase from Scrappin' Creations, make n' takes, and of course prizes along the way! We also have some late night dessert plans in the works! Our event will officially begin on Friday morning at 9am but if you can't stand it and want to get started early you are welcome to come up on Thursday night for an additional $15. Some of you may have heard about this new little gem that ProvoCraft is coming out with supposedly this fall. It apparently acts sort of like a flash drive and allows you to load all of your cartridges into it and then who knows what. The most important thing about it is the hysterical advertising leading up to the release. I stumbled across this little gem this morning! Happy Cutting!

A little Excersie?

Some of you know that I pretend to try and stay fit. My hubby owns the bike shop next door to Scrappin' Creations, (Summit Cycles) and I actually raced mountain bikes when we first met 7 years ago! Now I am lucky to get on my road bike once a month! In an effort to attempt to stay fit I started going to the gym about a year or two ago. That was humming along fine until I opened the store. Have I mentioned that being the boss is a lot of work!?!?! Anyway, about 8 months ago I started running at the gym and I am now finding that it is the fastest way to get in a quick, hard workout. I no longer have time to go to the gym but I can walk out my front door and get to steppin! Why would you care to know all of this? Well, I have a new gadget that will make running all that much funner! Make no mistake...I HATE to run! But I love to eat so, this is working for me. Here it is...drum roll please...the Nike + ipod. When I got my ipod I was really excited. My sis-in-law filled it with a zillion songs and I was off. Now, I have my newest toy and life is good! (Thanks, Donna D for inspiring me to take it up a notch with a new gadget!) So, this little sensor gets popped into my shoe and I'll be darned if it doesn't keep track of every step I take! I have been playing all morning and now I have a little runner chick (aka widget) that looks just like me...HA, that is located over there to the side of the blog! How stinkin' funny is that! I think this might be a great way to keep myself motivated...I can see progress, I can track it and I can keep moving! Check it out! Keep moving!

I know, I already posted today but this is so stinkin' awesome I wanted to share. I think you know by know that I love ink, paint, stamping...anything that makes a mess and let's me go home with dirty hands...makes me feel like I've been workin! So, when I heard (from Tim Holtz) that Jennifer McGuire was doing this snappy little deal on Two Peas, I was quite excited. First Shop Contest!

Ok, so you read the newsletter and took a little jaunt over here so you could find out about the contest didn't you!?!?! So here is the deal...Janelle Burkhardt brought in a fabulous bird creation a few weeks ago. It was so darn cute I thought it would be cool to get some for y'all to decorate. You have to use items from the shop and the deadline for turn in is July 15th. That gives you two weeks from today! We will display them and of course there will be a prize for the best looking bird! The picture below is what the bird looks like. It is pretty thin press board and it measures about 4inches tall and 3 inches across. Cute Stuff!

The Party's Over...for now

Well, what a weekend! We had a blast and I am sorry the whole lot of you couldn't be there! We laughed a lot, ate even more and maybe even got a few pages done! :) I am already making plans for our next grand adventure...don't worry it won't be long because this was just too darn much fun! We are going to do our next charity crop in November for Epworth Children's Home...thanks Christy for the great idea! I'll have a date in the next few weeks. In the meantime though I have a few other crop plans up my sleeve so stay tuned! I will say though that a short little road trip might be in order! :) Check out the slide show of the fun we had on the right side bar! If you have more pics please send them to me! Now, it is my understanding that many of you are off on Friday so I thought we might have some fun in the shop this coming Friday. We will be closed on Saturday for the 4th of July so celebrate with your family and I will be celebrating my 5th wedding anniversary! So, about the fun on Friday...I thought we might be able to pull off a shop crop from 9-5. Right now I only have 10 spots available so they are first come first serve. I may be able to work the spot a few doors down but we will see. It's a $4 crop in honor of the 4th and even if you can't make it we will have 4th of July specials every hour! Oh my the fun we are having! So sorry if you had to miss this super crop! We have eaten great food, won great prizes (Way to GO Donna Johnson with the Rock, Paper, Trimmer and Charlotte Eppich with the Cricut Expression!), we have eaten some more, we have done a page here and there and then we ate a little more! We are moving into the final day! WHEW what a weekend! I have heard a lot of "Best Crop Ever!" so I guess everyone is having a great time! Watch for pics later today! Sorry I haven't been able to tweet but we didn't have internet access yesterday so we will try again today! We are already planning the next one so get ready! Have a scrappy day!

Ok, so I have been so wrapped up in the crop this weekend that I haven't had much to say about CHA but let me tell you I am really getting excited! I have gotten invites to the Creative Imaginations, SEI and Fiskars party and there are more on the way. Now this should be a whole heap of fun! I just opened two emails about new product to be released...brand new punches that emboss and cut from Marvy, new releases from Daisy Bucket from their new division called Shabby Green Door, Basic Grey and Little Yellow Bicycle are sending out new stuff and I am sure there will be much more. If you aren't following me on Twitter you better get on before July 26th because I plan to take y'all with me every step of the way! That flip is gonna get some use yet! :)

Scrap 4 a Cause!

WOOHOO! It is almost here and I am really getting excited! We still have a few spots left so it isn't too late to get in on the fun! American Crafts sent a box FULL of Memory Markers and alphabet letters. So much that everyone will get them in their goody bags! Speaking of goody bags...the Scrappin' Creations recyclable bags came in today and everyone attending the crop gets a bag! A little present from me! In the meantime WalMart and Target donated today so more prizes! Sooooo, if you just weren't sure if you could squeeze it into your weekend, make it happen! You can come on Friday night for $20 if that is all you have time for or you can come all weekend! Just don't miss it!

Ok, so I have had the baby bug for about two years now and thought it was ok...yep, just ok. So it cuts letters...whooppeeee. I in fact thought it was soooo thrilling that I decided to buy the Expression a few weeks ago and until yesterday the only people who had used it were the babysitter and the kids...until yesterday...when I took the Cricut class with Kendra! Of course I was in and out of the class but darn that thing is cool! I now know just enough to be dangerous...and start cutting everything in sight! One of the coolest things I learned was how to make a tag with a word in it! (I know, I am easily entertained) You need the Plantin School Book Cartridge. 1. type one tag (white keys on the far right side of the overlay) 2. type the word you want on the tag 3. press shift and the same tag you already pushed 4. press the end caps button (gray keys on the far left of the overlay) 5. press cut WOOHOO you have a tag! Finish the look by adding a background tag. without changing any size buttons: 1. press the shadow button 2. type the tag button 3. press cut WOOHOO! You now have a background to adhere to your word tag. Get some fiber to tie through the hole, add some Stickles here and there, throw a few Prima flowers on there and you have a masterpiece for a fraction of the cost you would pay for it! Use it as a gift tag/card by writing your note on the back of it and tying it to your gift! Fabulous!

American Crafts Albums

If you have talked to me about albums you know I am partial to D-Ring...if for no other reason than because I am lazy. I hate arguing with the screws in the post-bound album but I know many of you love them so we have a good selection of both. Anyway, my favorite albums are American Crafts. They are well made, come in a variety of styles, sizes and colors and most importantnly they are really well priced! So one of my favs is the Modern Album. It has so many possiblities and a 12x12 is only $16.99! This cool album has a fabric binding in 10 different colors and a chipboard cover that allows you to design as you see fit. Many of you have asked for ideas for decorating that chipboard and it just so happens that American Crafts is having Album Week on their blog! So check it out! They have some really cute ideas already and more to come throughout the week!

A New Idea!

Alright, as you know I am trying to keep up with the shop blog and I am doing a very mediocre job. The main reason for that is I am just not savvy with Wordpress. I have always used Blogger and I love it and Wordpress is just WAY to advanced and I don't have the time or desire to learn it so I really needed a solution to this little bloggy problem and I have found it. I have created a new shop blog in blogger. This is where we will keep things up to date on a daily basis! I will still keep tweeting because you know we just have to have minute by minute updates too but this way I can add contests, ideas, specials, and much more with just a few button pushes! What great fun for all of us! So, now that I am MUCH happier with the bloggin system, stay tuned later today for our first shop contest! P.S. let me know what you think about the blog look...
